Mental Shifting

Mental Shifting.

Hello my little turtles! Today your going to get a lesson on "Mental Shifting" in your journey to becoming a mermaid. Mental Shifting is probably the most important step, because it puts you in the right mindset.  It can be extremely difficult to adjust to this lifestyle, and takes a lot of effort. But for me, this is probably the most fun! Now there are a few things we need to cover. Visualization, Thinking, Diet, and Personality. Adjusting small things into these 4 concepts can help you be on your way to mastering Mental Shifting! (:

1. Thinking:  Thinking like a mermaid, probably the most basic point to Mental Shifting. For example, every day, at the same time, write on a piece of paper 15 times, "I, ______ am a mermaid." Things like that put you into the right mindset. You can also take time during the day, to set aside for some yoga, and say to yourself, "I am a mermaid." Say it enough, and you'll start to believe it.

2. Visualization: Seeing yourself as a mermaid. You can do things as simple as curling your hair, if that makes you feel like a mermaid. Set aside some time to meditate, and imagine yourself as a mermaid, remember what your tail looks like ( Refer to Fantasy Shifting ) and really believe that is you.

3. Diet: Diet is the most fun for me I think. It really makes me feel like I am a mermaid. Sometimes though, and I have experienced it, when your body is adjusting to all these changes, some "human foods" like fast food, can actually make you sick, so be careful.  Refer to your Fantasy Shifting. What do you eat as a mermaid? If you eat fruits, try packing an apple for lunch. Eat an orange for breakfast. Go shopping and buy some more exotic fruits like pineapple. If you eat fish, or are an Arctic mermaid, go out and buy some tuna and add more of that to your diet. Little adjustments help.

 4. Personality: Before you jump to conclusions, this is not asking you to change your whole persona. This is simply where the "acting" comes in. Act how you would believe a mermaid to act. Even make it a game. See if your friends can guess that you've been "acting" different. See if you can get them to say "Gee, it seems like your a mermaid sometimes hahah." But whatever you do, don't give yourself away, (unless you really trust them.) But this one is the hardest to dedicate to, because sometimes you forget. But things like drinking lots of water, buying a fish from the pet store and talking to it if you have to, anything you feel how a mermaid would indeed act.
